About
Greetings! I’m Eleanor — founder of Drama Authentics and lifelong period drama devotee. It started with Anne and Gilbert. It became a shop in Gettysburg. And after Bridgerton aired on Christmas night 2020, it became this: a home for everyone who feels what I feel every time the opening credits roll.
This passion led me to immerse myself in the original novels and, ultimately, to the creation of Drama Authentics. My first venture into period-inspired retail began in 2008 in Gettysburg, where I ran a historical costuming shop. Though the economic downturn forced the closure of many small businesses, the dream never faded.
Fast forward to December 25, 2020, as I watched the debut season of Bridgerton on Netflix—the resurgence of period dramas like Outlander, Poldark, and Downton Abbey reignited my inspiration. I realized it was time to bring my dream to life in a new, modern way.
Drama Authentics is now a woman-owned business dedicated exclusively to period drama enthusiasts. It’s more than a shop—it’s a community space where fans can explore curated books, collectibles, and merchandise, engage in lively discussions about beloved movies and shows, and even enjoy comforts like weekly high teas for British expats and visitors.
Our mission is to create connections, inspire joy, and celebrate the timeless charm of period dramas. From curating your favorite releases to hosting unique events, we aim to enrich your life with experiences and treasures that reflect your passion.
I founded Drama Authentics not only for my children but also to positively contribute to our community, forging a space where like-minded individuals can come together, share stories, and indulge in a love of history, literature, and drama.
I can’t wait to meet you, connect with you, and grow this vibrant community together—one story, one show, and one cherished item at a time.
